Armlet

Acquired by Sheila Unwin in the early 1970s. This dance armlet is Kamba-made and consists of aluminium crescent-shaped bells (tulamba) suspended from a copper chain (munyo). The Kamba say that they learnt the art of metal working from Giriama who live close to the coast.
