Legging

A pair of Blackfoot buckskin leggings that once belonged to Chief Crowfoot (Isapo-Muxica), decorated with horsehair, ermine, dyed feathers, glass beads and some quillwork. These were worn as part of a formal regalia.

The regalia was purchased at Bow River by Indian agent Cecil Denny from Chief Crowfoot at the time Treaty 7 was signed. This was then offered as a loan to the Albert Memorial Museum in 1878 by Denny’s sister.
