Seal matrix with winged figure

A seal matrix was a personal object for wealthy individuals which was impressed into sealing wax to validate documents. This one is badly worn but is thought to show a winged Cupid figure. On the back the initials ‘EH’ have been roughly sketched into the silver which likely represent the owner’s name. This item was found while metal-detecting, reported via the Portable Antiquities Scheme and declared Treasure.
