Shadow puppet (wayang kulit)
Shadow puppet theatre is one of the oldest storytelling traditions in the world. Wayang means ‘shadow’ or ‘ghost’ and kulit refers to the leather the puppet is made from. Puppet shows are played everywhere and dramas include the telling of the popular Hindu saga The Ramayana.
