Slipper
In 2013 Nicola Stylianou researched this object as part of a Collections Review:
One of a group of objects relating to Ethiopian Airlines. The plastic bag (114/2004/5/1) would have contained one of the pairs of slippers. Chapman-Andrews acquired them on one of his later trips to Ethiopia, probably in the 1970s and certainly not before 1965 when the name was changed from Ethiopian Air Lines to Ethiopian Airlines. The airline was established in the 1940s as part of Haile Selassies efforts to modernise the country and is now one of the largest airline companies in Africa making Addis Ababa a busy transport hub.
