Horse harness pendant
This highly decorated shield-shaped pendant would have been attached to a horse harness, possibly with many other pendants. It is hinged and would have moved and made noise as the horse moved. The designs on the pendants were often heraldic, bearing the crest of wealthy individuals or families, and in the heat of medieval battle they enabled people to identify each other.
