Tile with paw print
This Roman tile fragment has the impression of dog paw prints on the surface. During the manufacturing process the tiles were left outside to dry before they could be fired in a kiln. During this time animals, and sometimes even children, could move among the tiles and accidentally leave footprints in the still-soft clay.
