Stone flake
This flint flake dates to the Mesolithic period and was found at Westward Ho! in Devon. A ‘flake’ is what archaeologists call pieces of flint which are knocked off larger lumps of stone when making stone tools. This example is probably a waste product from the creation of microblades.
