Dance club

Bonito shaped dance club.
This fish-shaped dance club embodies four strong masculine qualities through its distinctive and symbolic form. The design incorporates a bonito (tuna), a fishing boat, abstract human faces and a frigatebird, all are symbols of successful fishing, warfare, male economic success and chieflyness. The clubs were used in communal male stamping dances accompanied by a light and quiet bamboo slit drum.
