Printing block depicting a building in High Street

This is a wooden printing block with a metal image of 227-228 High Street, Exeter. For many years the building was occupied by J & G Ross, a gentlemen’s clothing shop and this block was probably used for printing adverts for the business. On the back of the block is a piece of scrap paper with part of an advert for “...sfield & Sons, North Street, Exeter”. The printing block was found in the roof at 1 College Road, Exeter but it is not known how it came to be there.
