Magic Lantern Slide: trench section with ranging pole

Hembury hillfort is an important Neolithic and Iron Age site in the Blackdown Hills, East Devon. The site was excavated between 1930-1935 by Hilary Liddell, and this glass slide is one of several made to record the excavations. The image shows the edge of a trench, creating a section through an archaeological feature.
