Casting jet
A casting jet which was found with a bracelet and palstave axe in the Burlescombe hoard. A casting jet is the little piece of waste metal that forms in the mouth of a metal casting mould. Casting waste is a relatively uncommon feature of hoards that also contain bracelets, being more commonly associated with the ‘scrap’ hoards of the Late Bronze Age in southern England.
