Lace collar

In her book, A History of Lace, Frances Bury Palliser recalls similar articles for sale in the Copenhagen shops, ‘the work of poor gentlewomen’. Fashionable collar and cuff sets were decorated with ‘stars, crosses and other medieval designs’. Bury Palliser collected this cutwork collar of Copenhagen lace from the Countess Frisenbourg.
