Mote spoon

Mote spoons, also known as mote skimmers, have a variety of suggested uses. Mote refers to the point on the end of the handle which might have been used for clearing the spout of the teapot of it had become clogged with tea leaves. The perforated bowl could be used to catch leaves as the tea was poured or to skim off any strays from the cup.
