Honiton (East Devon) bobbin lace sprig

This sample bobbin lace motif represents one of a number made by Charlotte Treadwin’s Exeter workshop based in the Cathedral Yard. Made in cotton thread, the motif of water lily leaves was intended to be assembled with others as part of a larger piece submitted to the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1867.
