Devon trolly lace sample

This is an example of Devonshire trolly lace. Trolly lace was used for trimmings and it was made in continuous lengths. It was relatively easy to make quickly so could be churned out by lace makers. It was their ‘bread and butter’ as more intricate designs and larger pieces took much longer to produce and they would not be paid until they had finished.
