Valencian lustreware dish
This dish was discovered during excavations in Exeter. When new it would have been an expensive item as it was decorated with painted golden lustre. The shadows of the former pattern can be traced and are shown in the line drawing above. It is an example of Ligurian maiolica, a type of Italian tin-glazed pottery.
