Medicine jar

This type of jar is called an ‘albarello’ and the shape copies an Islamic style of jar. It was discovered in Exeter in 1880, and is one of the finest examples of French Beauvais pottery ever found in Britain.
The Exeter: a Place in Time (EAPIT) project has recently carried out research on French pottery from Exeter.
