Final Design of the Ceiling of the Chapel at the University of Exeter
The Mary Harris Memorial Chapel of 1958 was the last of the group of new university buildings laid out according to a plan of Vincent Harris of 1931.
Perhaps the most striking feature of its interior is its ceiling by Sir Thomas Monnington, with its curving interlocking patterns in blues, white and purple. Monnington's series of drawings for the ceiling is held by the museum.
