Magic Lantern Slide: Corbel, Polsloe Priory
This slide presents one of the three nunneries that exist in the Devon and Cornwall area, this is one of the few nunneries that have had extensive work and fabric surveying. The history of the priory is closely connected with the history of the City of Exeter and the cathedral and this was taken between the 19th and 20th century.
William Weaver Baker was a keen local amateur photographer and his collection of lantern slides offer a rare glimpse of Exeter and the surrounding area in the early twentieth century.
