Squat lekythos
This is an ancient Greek red-figure ware juglet called a ‘lekythos’. This type of jug was used for storing oil, often for funerary use. It has a ring base, round body, thin neck and with a tall rim. The decoration shows a male figure crawling towards an abstract scroll pattern.
