Magic Lantern Slide: Nightingale, male with food

This commercially-made slide was in the collection of Mr Rowden. He had a keen interest in nature and wildlife, and was well known for being able to imitate the call of the nightingale bird. He used lantern slides to accompany educational talks and his collection of over 1000 slides is now in the museum’s collection.
