Magic Lantern Slide: British soldiers taking items from local women at river bank

This slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows British soldiers on a boat being passed items from local people on the river bank, with a dwelling behind them. It seems likely that the soldiers were buying food or goods from the local people. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920.
