Figurine of Anubis
This figurine is from an ancient Egyptian ceremonial standard. It shows Anubis, the jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife. Dating from 661BC-332BC, it is made of copper alloy and measures approximately 4cm long and 3.5cm high.
The artefact belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
