Bracelet
This bracelet was described by its collector as ‘Bangle with keeled section, 2.2in interior diameter: made of vivid blue glass, with pale yellow border, lined with green running round the central edge, across which, at intervals, are six semi-bands striped with orange, pale yellow, and dark green. Ancient, but possibly later than the Roman period. Found at Tripoli. (Figured in “Bazaar” 9/7/13.) Early Arab’. It belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
