Kohl pot
In ancient Egypt kohl pots were used for storing cosmetics, and this pot still retains traces of these pigments inside. Recent scientific analysis revealed these were a lead carbonate.
It belonged to Lieutenant Colonel LAD Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
