Exeter

‘Exeter’ by John Clarkson Uren, about 1880-1900. This watercolour on paper depicts a view of Exeter, with Exeter Cathedral seen on the hill above trees. The view seems to suggest it was executed to the south of the city, from the River Exe. Uren (1845-1932) was a Cornish artist who primarily studied coastal scenes of Devon and Cornwall. His work was exhibited at local societies and exhibitions.
