Sir Henry Langford Bart

Sir Henry Langford possessed estates in Devon at Bradninch, and Combsatchfield near Silverton. In 1710 he bought the Manor of Kingskerswell, and bequeathed all his estates to his godson, Thomas Brown. Brown later built the family vault and buried Sir Henry there.

The artist, William Gandy, practiced as a portrait painter in and around Exeter and Plymouth and is said to have been admired by the more celebrated artists, Sir Godfrey Kneller and Sir Joshua Reynolds.
