In the right foreground two trees: one with red leaves. Also a river is visible. On the left more trees and a path. A woman walks towards the viewer. She wears a long white dress under a long red cloak and a hat. She is carrying two bundles. Elford was an amateur artist, who was a banker and politician local to the Devon area.
