Ingot
This is one of forty two ingots of almost pure tin which were found by divers from the South West Maritime Archaeology Group. Such a large quantity of tin would have made a valuable cargo. We do not know if they were being shipped along the coast or across to France. Tin has been traded in this way for many hundreds of years and it has not been possible to date these ingots yet but this one is thought to be prehistoric.
