European rabbit

The European rabbit is a well known and popular mammal that occurs throughout Europe. It lives in warrens, sometimes including hundreds of individuals, although populations have been decimated by the disease myxomatosis, which has been introduced to control populations. Unfortunately, rabbits were important parts of food chains so other rare species like the Iberian Lynx have been badly affected.
