Stoat

The stoat is a small but fearsome predator that is capable of killing animals two or three times its own body weight. It feeds predominantly on rodents and rabbits, though will take almost anything it can find. Ground-nesting birds are at particular risk. The species is native to Europe and Asia but has been introduced into places such as New Zealand where it has had a devastating effect on native species.
