Club

Kite shaped club (supe or subi) with inlaid shell and black putty in the form of bonito with fibre handle binding. These clubs have elements of both New Guinea and Western Polynesian clubs and are characteristic of Malaita. The addition of pearlshell inlay is a recent practice mainly to appeal to the export market.
