Ceremonial club

Oversized bowai, ceremonial club with crisp engraving typical of later work with imported steel nails. Bowai are tapering two handed clubs which were very popular on Fiji. The oversized versions have no practical use, and must instead have fulfilled some kind of ceremonial purpose, such as display and exchange at festivals.
