Shoulder guard
Shoulder armour (sode) of this type came into being during the late 1600s, which was more rectangular in shape. This piece consists of long scaled plates (kozane) that were attached to the cloth by silk lace (odoshi). This is a small and less cumbersome example of a shoulder guard (tosei sode).
