Anklet

One of a pair of anklets cast from white metal alloy. White metal alloys were often associated with devotees of Ọbatala. Ọbatala is a Yoruba oriṣa (lesser deity) who created the first man and woman, and is involved with the development of the foetus in the womb.

Probably obtained by Townsend in Abeokuta, between 1843 and 1868.
