‘Winter’ by Thomas Junior Dingle, c.1874, in oil on canvas. The scene depicts the Lyd Valley, which runs largely to the North-West of Dartmoor, Devon. Thomas Junior Dingle was the son of Thomas Dingle, both landscape painters. Dingle Junior exhibited at the Royal Academy on several occasions and based himself in Devon where he produced scenes of the local landscape.
