Tusk shells

Tusk shells, or scaphopods as they are properly known, are found around the world. These marine molluscs range in size from just 0.5 cm to 18 cm.

William John Alexander Grant sailed as a photographer with Sir Allen Young in Pandora in 1876. Grant made another seven photographic trips to the Arctic. Four voyages were in the Dutch Arctic schooner Willem Barents, the others in British yachts.
