Priddy Hoard

Gold has a special place in human history because it is rare, beautiful and easy to work. It was first used in Britain over 4,000 years ago. This hoard of gold jewellery was probably buried as an offering to the gods in 1,300-1,100 BC. These neck and arm ornaments were deliberately bent out of shape before burial.
