Afghan dagger and scabbard
This dagger was captured in July 1839 when the 13th Somerset Light Infantry stormed the fortress of Ghuznee during the Afghan wars. The steel dagger has a brass handle intricately engraved with a floral design and green and red gemstones. The brass scabbard is also decorated with the same floral engravings, curving to a small round end.
