Loom weight
Fragments of large clay objects with holes are found on Bronze Age sites across southern England but complete objects like this one are very rare. It is one of a small number found on a Bronze Age site near Honiton in Devon. It’s made from clay containing large pebbles and has been shaped and decorated around each end. It is not clear what these items were used for, perhaps loom weights or possibly used in the kiln when firing pottery.
