Olm

People once believed that olms were young cave dragons. This is because heavy rain sometimes caused them to wash out of their subterranean homes. Olms spend their whole life in caves, underwater and in total darkness – they are true ‘troglobites’. Unlike most amphibians they are blind (but can sense light) and adults still have external gills.
