Pointer, divination pointer, iroke ifa

This object is a divination pointer or tapper. Its indigenous name is “iroke ifa”. It was produced and used by the Yoruba in Nigeria, sometime before 1993. The diviner rhythmically taps the pointer on a divination tray and calls upon Orunmila, a god, and past diviners to begin the ritual.
