The Wagg Family of Windsor

One of Hayman’s earliest conversation portraits, the Wagg Family was once attributed to Bartholomew Dandridge and even William Hogarth. As a friend Hayman would have been familiar with Hogarth’s successful early group portraits of the 1730s such as Ashley Cowper with his wife and Daughter (Tate) and the similarities have been well documented.
