Club head
Discoidal head of a stone-headed club.
These war clubs were used throughout southern Papua New Guinea until the early 20th Century. They are part of a complex trade network between the quarries of Torres Strait Islands and the Papuan Gulf which has very little stone. Finer examples are decorated with a fine plume of red parrot feathers.
