Excelsior '88' butterfly

This butterfly was part of Dr. R. V. Solly’s collection that was left to the Museum in his will. It was collected in Chanchamayo, Peru, and is commonly known as ‘excelsior 88’ due to the makings on its wings that resemble the number 8.
