Woven bag

Harakeke and kiekie plant fibres are long and strong enough to be dyed and woven into baskets and bags. In Māori legend, harakeke and kiekie were brothers who were separated at the beginning of time but who lived with different guardians; one lived along rivers and streams, the other remained sheltered in the forests.
