John Dinham

Dinham, an Exeter grocer and jeweller, is best known as the founder of the Free Cottages or Mount Dinham Almshouses on St. David’s Hill. His original foundation of sixteen cottages was later extended to over forty homes. He also gave the land upon which the church of St. Michael and All Angels was built at St. David’s Hill.
