Magic Lantern Slide: Mrs J. Passmore L.R.A.M.

This photographic image shows Mrs Fanny Passmore who was a music teacher of piano and singing, and a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music. In this image she is playing a church organ, thought to be that in Exeter’s Sidwell Street Methodist Church.

Mrs Passmore was born around 1867 and married John Passmore. In 1911 they lived at 12 Hills Court, Longbrook Street, Exeter. This magic lantern slide is by William Weaver Baker who mostly took images of Exeter’s buildings and historic objects, but did occasionally take images of people.
