Magic Lantern Slide: Cottage in Selworthy Green

This slide by William Weaver Baker shows a cottage at Selworthy Green on Exmoor. Selworthy Green included six cottages for Holnicote estate pensioners, built in the early nineteenth century. The cottages were seen as remarkable as they retained their thatched roofs and were traditionally constructed. Weaver Baker generally took photographs of buildings and objects around Exeter, but slides like this show he was also interested in architecture further afield.
